Continued from Part 1.
-------------------------
Nina and Matt’s relationship had progressed a lot faster than any normal person would have expected, but it never felt like they moved too fast. Two weeks in, Matt had already told her he loved her. He believed he’d loved her before they even officially got together. The night she first slept in his bed, his poor mother had been shocked- Unlike Nina, he still lived at home, but he felt no need to inform his mother that he was bringing someone else home.
Six months later, they hardly spent a night apart. They were inseparable, and even Matt’s friends went to all of Nina’s flat parties. One night Joe and Tim had even squeezed into the same bed as Matt and Nina. Alex had to sleep on the floor.
Matt spent more time at her university events than his own. Half of his friends didn’t even go to university, yet they knew hers well thanks to all the gigs and parties.
However, Nina sometimes got sick of being one of the boys. She was, after all, Matt’s girlfriend- even if she was also his mate. She built up an extensive collection of lingerie, and made sure to wear shorter skirts if it was only Matt around.
So when she saw an ad for what they called ‘1940s style conservative burlesque,’ she thought, “Why not?”
-----------------------
“He gives me fever,”
Matt’s eyes followed Nina’s hips as they moved to the music. She clicked her fingers perfectly in time and just looked all-round smouldering. When she winked at him halfway through the song his heart skipped a beat- it hadn’t done that in a while now.
He’d questioned her sudden interest in what he considered nothing more than stripping, but watching her move her body like that while wearing suspenders and a corset had changed his mind.
“Fever with his kisses, fever when he holds me tight...”
He didn’t really understand what the feather boa was, let alone why she needed it, but at the moment he only wished it was his hand sliding up her leg rather than those feathers.
“What a lovely way to burn…”
He didn’t like high heels, and had laughed when she’d walked in wearing them, but he certainly wasn’t looking at her feet anymore. As the music ended she let her boa drop to the ground and giggled as she sat down on his knee.
“What did you think?” she smiled as she asked but was secretly incredibly nervous.
“Yeah, it was good,” he said quietly before kissing her and pulling her closer. He was a man of few words and she had learned to take his actions as being more meaningful than his speech.
Nina didn’t know what it was, but she felt some sort of power performing to that sort of music. Like her body conducted the music, and whoever watched would be entranced. Like she was in total control of the voyeur- the General over the lieutenant.
Something about it made her feel instantly sexy, and when she was dressed to the nines, she didn’t need to be Nina anymore. She wasn’t one of the boys.
She was a burlesque dancer.

Hmmm, where is this going?
I know this is the longest piece you've ever attempted (and this note might come a bit early), but there's a certain, specific rhythm to your writing... and I can't decide if that's a positive or a negative. Hmm...
And you're skirting the Muses (no pun intended)!
um. wow. yeah, i guess the muses are a little vague here...this seems to jump ahead to muse #8? Also, that last sentence in paragraph 1 is a bit long, could be broken up into a couple. Good character developement so far...
I agree about the muses. I'm haven't seen a hint of either one so far.
Poor Matt seems a bit repressed. Nina's got her work cut out for her.
